The Potomac river is home to hundreds of animals, like birds, fish, and plants. It is 405 miles long, and leads into the Chesapeake bay.
The Potomac is facing a large threat, with many invasive species, such as the invasive northern snakehead. In addition to this, pollution and waste have entered the river, threatening many of the native species.
We are the main cause of the threats currenty facing the Potomac, so only we can change things for the better. Despite the threats facing the Potomac, the river's quality has improved in recent years. Check out the "Take Action" page to learn how you can help.
